We watched Rent last night and I thoroughly enjoied it! When The Hater's at his local tournament this weekend I'm probably going to watch it again, try to decide which number is my favorite.
I've also not decided where it ranks on my list of all-time-best musicals...
At work today I talked with one of my patients about it. She said that the Broadway version was fantastic and that she had heard it did not transfer to the screen so well. Having not seen any other version, I thought the story wasn't martyred for the screen... I could see how some pieces would have been great on stage.
I miss acting.

Hi - I love 'Rent.' I've seen the movie as well as the Broadway version, and I think it transfered to the big screen pretty well. Haha, but then again, I love everything about this musical, so even if I thought it didn't transfer very well, I would never admit it. :)
For real. That's exactly how I feel about 'Chicago'... my poor husband has become very tolerant of my inner-musical-loving-self!
Haha! That's great your husband is tolerant of your 'inner-musical-loving-self' haha...wish my boyfriend was like that. I think I annoy him more than anything.
Haven't seen this one yet either. But I guess if you've got to go up against a musical as phenomenal as "Rent" you've got a pretty big job ahead of you!
