a simple thanks

It's hardly enough to just thank the 26 million living Veterans in America:

Thank you for the sacrifices you made,

for the 8 trillion push-ups you did,

for listening to all the ugly things that your DS called you,

for abandoning your personal liberties to protect mine.

(and)

Thank you for defending

our nation

our Constitution

our mundane, everyday lives.

(and)

Thank you for your service;

I sincerely appreciate my freedom.
